Rampisham is a small village in Dorset, situated about 11 miles north of Dorchester. In 1939 the BBC acquired 189 acres of the Rampisham Down, where it erected a communications station. This acted as one of the main bases for transmitting signals for the BBC world service, until it was shut down in 2011. This photography book depicts the beauty, and almost haunting presents of the towering pylons that were there for over 70 years before they were decommissioned and the down restored to its former self.
